FLOWERStalk is based at the Eynsham Emporium. The business opened in November 2005 and is owned by Rachel and myself (Sheila).
Four years after having children I decided it was time for a career change and went to college at Horton cum Studley for 2 years and achieved my City and Guilds Level 1 & 2 in Floristry, whilst doing this I worked part time in a very busy florist in Oxford always with the ambition of owning my own shop. I really enjoy working with different structures and colours and taking floristry beyond the boundries. One carefully chosen flower placed in the right container and location can speak volumes. Hence the name FLOWERStalk - for me working with flowers and plants is about combining lifestyle and creativity.
Rachel on the other hand has been in the floristry business for 17 years and holds the acclaimed NDSF qualification and is a Fellow of the Society of Floristry. She also had her own shop in Suffolk and believes in combining the high standards of British workmanship with touches of the contemporary and European influences.
Since opening the shop we have gone from strength to strength not only developing the floristry side of the business but expanding our gift range which is complementary to our flowers with Thorntons chocolates, teddy bears by Russ Berrie and Shearer candles, we also have a wonderful range of lifestyle ceramic and glass containers and vases, designer handbags and jewellry, products from the Pink Toolbox Company and cuff links for men from the designer Sonia Spencer and much much more.
We basically have something for everyone at the Emporium. In the cookshop Corin stocks a superb range of cookware and gadgets for your god or godess moment in the kitchen and after browsing the Emporium you can indulge in a two shot cappuccino and relax with the papers or magazines.
Come and see for yourself, we guarantee you will be delighted at this new concept of shopping
